Let’s begin with a tip. Google in “safe mode” especially if surfing with a computer wired to a projector that is being projected to a large group of people, unless, of course, the large group of people is interested in porn, which I’ve come to find out is a large group of people. Those interested in architecture appear to be a much smaller and for the most part less entertaining bunch. Unlike pornographic or fundamentalist preachings, which appear to be the primary reasons for the internet, information that pertains to architecture appears to be a bit “lite” or even “fat-free” even if we surf in an “unsafe mode” as can be seen by visiting the 2 of the most visited architectural "safe" sites on the web, http://www.archinform.net and http://www.arcspace.com. 2 sites that pretty much look like your standard old-mag or standard old-database...a good place to download pictures and that's about it.

The safe and stuffy matter of architectural rhetoric is still blatantly apparent on the web. The profession has yet to utilize the web for what it truly is: the-voice-of-the-bitter-under-represented-though-all-over-the-place-mass-of-what-are-supposed-to-be-ludites-who-are-really-the-rest-of-us-who-will-change-the-world-one-bitter-person-at-a-time-or-whenever-they-GOD-DAMN-WELL-PLEASE or anarchy! It is the anarchistic nature of the web that may save the architectural worker from the gated community it has locked itself up in.

On the other side of the gate is a world of trippy fun and good-old Vegas-style raunch. Let’s go!

Loud Paper @
http://www.loudpapermag.com "is a zine dedicated to increasing the volume of architectural discourse. It is a slambamgetitoutthere way of linking architectural thoughts, musings and new work with the culture at large." Loud Paper is a fresh mix of pop culture and architectural knowledge started as a street zine by Mimi Zeiger while at SCI Arc in 1997. With articles like A Skateboarder's Guide to Architecture or an Architect's Guide to Skateboarding alongside music reviews of Sonic Youth it's easy to peruse this one with the TV on and your headphones jacked.

Archinect @
http://www.archinect.com/ is a well established and very effective site developed by an interesting group of hipsters who are truly interested taking advantage of the siteless quality of these things. They have utilized their site as a real stomping ground for young and rebellious designers who are not so interested in the preordained truth that modernism spit out. One of the cooler things about this site is the school blog project @ http://www.archinect.com/schoolblog/index.php. While a majority of the schools involved are american an increasing number of institutions are posting from places like Catalunya, Ankara, Lodz, Timisoara and Monterrey.

RE. DESIGNNEWSANDWEBLOG @
http://www.reluct.com/home/index.html and

MoCo Loco @
http://mocoloco.com/ are 2 very slick and shiny web zines that cater to the hi-fi-life of the Wallpaper afficianado.

V2_ : Institute for the Unstable Media @
http://www.v2.nl/ is the most prolific and influencial multiplatformed site in the world. This is a true site as one describes in hypertheory, a place where information can and does live first and foremost in the digital realm. V2_ is by far one of the most advanced architectural studios in the world if, and only if, you consider information as something you can build with.

URBANMAG* @
http://www.urbanmag.be is...well I can't really tell you exactly because I can't read a damn word of it but my gut instinct tells me this is one worth translating.

STRANGE HARVEST.COM @
http://www.strangeharvest.com/ and

the fat channel @
http://www.fat.co.uk/ are, like most blogs, soemthing that exists in the mind of one person who lives in an aliased world where the voices in their schizophrenic head can actually BE heard by everybody else and their paranoid beliefs can be exorcised. In this public autotherapy everybody else can find true entertainment at the expense of the posessed.

BOING BOING a directory of wonderful things @
http://boingboing.net/ is the mack daddy of blogging. This is the true goto site to see what is being blogged all around the world. With new 411 everytime you reload it proves to be constantly as entertaining as any decent freak show should be.

reBLOG of eyebeam.org @
http://www.eyebeam.org/reblog/ is the quintessential information rehashing machine. Constucted as a reader of blogs worldwide it does the editing for you. It picks all the juicy things that happen everyday that somehow miss the standard evening news and plus this site has the dopest list of all blogs around.

and finally for all you nimby's out there a 180 from Rotterdam:

Welcome into My Backyard! @
http://www.wimby.nl/ WiMBY! is the name of the Rotterdam-Hoogvliet International Building Exhibition.

and here I will start a list of I-don't-what-the-fuck-it-is-but-it's-trippy-fun:
